Full transparency, one of my last conversations with my dad is what inspired me to start my business, Soleil Alexandre Boutique. I only mentioned that I was thinking about it and he told me to go for it. His encouragement was the spark I needed to accomplish one of my many goals. I intentionally launched my business on his birthday (February 10th) and every year I’m reminded of our conversation about the commitment and perseverance it takes to sustain a business. I know he’d be proud of all that I’ve achieved in the past two years.
Last month, I celebrated both of my parent’s birthdays (just 3 days apart) and of course, the 2nd anniversary of my business. February, for me, has always been a time for celebration of life, love, and culture. After January’s launch of the B+B Collection (a collection inspired by my parents Betty & Bill), I’ve decided to make the collection permanent. Though the pieces in the collection will change, they will always be inspired by my parents: the memories of their lives that I treasure, the love they so freely gave, and the cultural pride they instilled in me.
